Fishing tour on the Mekong
(half day)
Now you can enjoy the thrill of fishing on the Mekong River. There are many fine-eating species of fish in the river just waiting to be caught. And our fishing location is a beautiful little river beach. After you catch your fish, we BBQ it for you right there on the spot.
This half-day fishing adventure includes a visit to a traditional village where they produce whisky! Directly from your accommodation we take you in a traditional tuk-tuk to the whisky village via a scenic, 1-hour journey through breathtaking mountain landscapes on the way to the river.
we take a short stop here to explore the local village and learn about traditional Lao whiskey production, and browse local handicrafts.
We then go onto the charming Pak Ou Village to meet an experienced local fisherman who will share traditional techniques and guide your excursion. He will take you to prime fishing spots along the river where you will try your hand at traditional fishing methods and enjoy the peaceful surroundings until 11:30am.
Lunch is the fish you have caught cooked over a freshly built open fire on the riverbank, accompanied by fresh bananas.
After lunch, take a relaxing tuk-tuk ride back to Luang Prabang, finishing the tour around 1:00pm.
