3-day jungle trek
3-DAY JUNGLE TREK, BOAT TRIP & KAYAKING ADVENTURE
Day 1: Rice fields & Deep Jungle Immersion
Your adventure begins at 8:30 AM with a tuk-tuk ride to a trailhead 10 km outside of Nong Khiaw. We start with a 2-hour trek through lush rice paddies to Naluang Village for lunch. In the afternoon, gear up for a more challenging 4-5 hours of trekking into the heart of the jungle. You will arrive at Houyhoi Village for a cultural evening, featuring a traditional cooking class and dinner with a local family. Here we overnight at a village homestay.
Day 2: Viewpoints & The Weaving Village
After breakfast with the local community, we head trek toward Muang Ngoi. Here you will hike up to a stunning viewpoint and explore historic caves. In the afternoon we walk to Nakang Village. This is a famous weaving community where you can see local families working at looms in front of their homes. We will spend the night immersed in the local culture at a village homestay.
Day 3: Waterfalls, Organic Farms & Sunset Kayaking
After breakfast we return to Muang Ngoi and board a boat for a 30-minute downstream cruise to Sop Kong Village. Enjoy a 1-hour hike to the refreshing Mok Waterfall for a picnic lunch. On the return journey we stop at Yensabai Organic Farm for a relaxing break. The final leg of the journey includes a 30-minute scenic kayak back to Nong Khiaw. Experience the peaceful river life – fishermen, children playing, and sunbathing buffalo – before arriving back in town just before sunset.
